Lindenwood women's volleyball fell on Friday night at Hyland Arena to the No. 8 team in NCAA Division II. The Lady Lions lost to Washburn by scores of 25-22, 25-10, and 25-15.
Lindenwood came out hot as it outhit and outblock the Ichabods in the first set. The Lady Lions were down 23-22 in the game, before Washburn scored the final two points for the win.
The final two sets were all Washburn. The Ichabods had an 84.6 sideout percentage in those two sets, and the Lady Lions had twice as many hitting errors as kills.
Shannon Doyle led Lindenwood with six kills, 11 digs, and a .385 hitting percentage. Other team leaders were
Sarah-Jane Pavlik with 21 assists,
Kayla Guyot with three blocks, and
Alex Dahlstrom with three blocks and 7.5 points.
The Lady Lions are now 5-17 on the season and 2-12 in MIAA play. Lindenwood hosts Emporia State on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. in Hyland Arena.
