Student Life Sports

The Lindenwood Student Life Sports department was created in 2010 to oversee the university's athletics programs that are not participating in the NCAA. The majority of these programs compete at the highest level of their respective national and conference organizations.

The Student Life Sports are: archery, men's and women's bowling, cheerleading, dance (including Lion Line, Lionettes, and Golden Line), Esports, men's ACHA DII ice hockey, women's ACHA ice hockey, Olympic weightlifting, roller hockey, men's rugby, and shotgun sports.

Lindenwood has one of the most successful Student Life Sports departments in the country. Since 2002, Lindenwood Student Life Sports programs have won 115 top level team national championships. Shotgun Sports won 15 straight clay target shooting titles from 2004 to 2018, added another in 2023 and 2024, and had a team member participate in the 2008 Summer Olympics and has another in the 2016 games.   Two Olympic weightlifters and a women's rugby player also participated in the Olympic Games in Rio. The roller hockey team has won 12 Division I titles and once had a 109-game winning streak. Other national titles have come from cheerleading (14), Lion Line dance (10), Lionettes dance (9), men's ACHA ice hockey (4), Olympic weightlifting (9), men’s rugby (5), men's bowling (2), and women's bowling (3).
