The Lindenwood men's soccer team played the No. 15 Northeastern State Riverhawks tough but could not overcome an early goal and fell 1-0 in St. Charles on Saturday afternoon.
Northeastern State scored the only goal it needed in the 29
th minute. The Lions put some pressure on the Riverhawks in the second half but could not get a shot by Northeastern State goalie Jackson Biles.
Lindenwood was forced to play a man down for the final 25 minutes after Eduardo Spragge was given a red card. Northeastern State outshot the Lions 9-6.
The loss drops the Lions to 5-4-2 overall and 3-2 in MIAA play. Up next for Lindenwood is road game against Harding on Oct. 9
