Colin Hackworth's Hot-Hand Leads Lions Over Grand Canyon

The Lindenwood men's volleyball program picked up an important MIVA victory on Friday night with a 3-1 road win over Grand Canyon. The Lions won 25-23, 25-14, 15-25, and 25-23.

Colin Hackworth had a big night for Lindenwood, especially in the biggest points in the close first and fourth sets. In the first set, a late rally by the Lopers had cut Lindenwood's lead down to 23-22. Hackworth recorded two kills over the next three points to give the Lions a two-point win. In the final set, Hackworth's service ace gave Lindenwood a 23-22 lead, and it would never trail again.

Hackworth finished with a team-high 22 kills, and he hit .633 in the match. He had just three hitting errors in 30 attempts. Hackworth also had two service aces and two block assists, and finished with 25 points.

Jake Duckworth and Kyle Overby each had 13 kills, and both players hit over .340. Roman Seghezzi had a team-high 47 assists and helped the Lions hit .376 for the match. Defensively, Ryan Vorderer had eight assists, and Logan Jarus and Thomas Cruz tied Hackworth with two blocks.
