Ryan Moore had a career night for the Lindenwood men's volleyball team but it wasn't enough to lead the Lions to a victory. They fell to Missouri Baptist by scores of 25-16, 25-21, 16-25, and 25-21.
Moore recorded 22 kills, eight digs, and 24 points in the match, all of which were career-highs. He also collected a service ace and two blocks, and he had a .471 hitting percentage for the match. Much of his damage came in the third set when he led the Lions to a win after recording six kills and a service ace.
Lindenwood hit .478 in that third set, but managed just a .170 hitting percentage for the other three sets. Missouri Baptist, meanwhile, hit .340 for the match, and it had eight less hitting errors than the Lions.
Other top performers for the Lions were
Jake Duckworth with 12 kills and eight digs,
Adam Brewster with 40 assists,
Michael Chard with four service aces, and
Karsten Staples with five blocks.
Lindenwood falls to 1-4 on the season. The Lions are back in action on Friday night with a 7 p.m. match at Hyland Arena against Grand View.
