The Lindenwood men's basketball team played one of its most complete games of the season on Saturday afternoon in Pittsburg, Kan., as the Lions defeated Pittsburg State by a 76-55 score.

Defensively, the Lions held the Gorillas to their fourth-lowest point total of the season. Pittsburg State shot just 37.3 percent from the field and 17.4 percent from three-point range. Lindenwood forced 15 turnovers, won the rebounding battle, and only sent Pittsburg State to the free-throw line 10 times.

Offensively, Lindenwood came out on fire from long distance, making 10-of-18 three-pointers in the first half. The Lions cooled down from the outside in the second half, but were able to start getting to rim for both layups and trips to the free-throw line, where it did not miss until the final 2:21 of the game.

The game was decided in the final 10 minutes of the first half and the first 13 minutes of the second half. Lindenwood trailed 15-14 midway through the first period, but outscored the Gorillas 26-10 for the rest of the half. The Lions put an explanation point on the half when
Adam Pohlman and
LJ McIntosh both hit three-pointers in the final nine seconds to put the Lions up 40-25.

In the second half, Lindenwood outscored Pittsburg State 31-13 over the first 13 minutes, which gave the Lions a 33-point lead, and enabled the end of the bench to enter for the final 4:33.

Lindenwood received another big game from its bench, as it received 47 points from those players.
Brenon Larson-Gulsvig led the team with 22 points. He made four three-pointers and was six-for-six from the free-throw line.
Jackson Price had 11 points, and all seven bench players had at least one point. Among the starters,
Bakari Triggs led the way with 12 points, one more than McIntosh.

Adam Pohlman led the team with six rebounds, and Triggs recorded five boards. Triggs was also one of three players with three assists, and he led the team with three steals.

Lindenwood improves to 14-6 overall and 4-4 in conference action. The Lions return home next Thursday evening for a 7:30 p.m. game against Southwest Baptist.
