The Lindenwood pitching staff allowed just five runs on Friday as the Lions swept a MIAA baseball doubleheader at Northeastern State. The Lions won the first game by a 5-1 score, and took the second game in 11 innings by a 5-4 margin.

The Lions were on the mound for 20 innings and allowed just 16 hits and four earned runs. They struck out 19 batters and walked three. Offensively, Lindenwood banged out 21 hits, including 13 in the second contest.

Brendan Feldmann continued his dominate season with a strong outing in game one. He tossed eight innings and struck out eight batters, while allowing just five hits.
The Lions struck first in the top of the fifth inning after a two-RBI double by
Tyler Muehling gave Lindenwood a 2-0 lead.Â
Sam Baxter belted a three-run shot to left field to extend the lead to 5-0 after six innings of play. The RiverHawks scored their only run in the bottom of the seventh as the Lions closed out game one with a 5-1 victory.

Lindenwood jumped out to another lead in the second game, opening up a 4-0 advantage midway through the game.
Ryan Sosnowski scored the first run in the fourth inning, and then hit a three-run homer in the fifth. Northeastern State came back though with two runs in the fifth and two in the eighth.

In extra innings, the Lions stringed together three straight singles and took the lead in the 11th on a base hit by
Wes Degener. The RiverHawks got the leadoff batter on in the bottom half of the inning, but Lindenwood stranded him at second base.

Andrew Eilers started game two and allowed three earned run in 7 2/3 innings.
Austin Muich pitched the final two innings for the win, and he allowed just one hit.
Tyler Muehling, Sosnowski,
Drew Quinones, and
Paul Sherwood all had two hits.

The final game of the three-game series has been postponed until Sunday at noon.
