The Lindenwood cross country teams opened the 2017 season in a dual against Truman State on Thursday night in St. Charles, Mo.
The men front loaded the 4k run as the Lions had five of the top six finishers.
Omar Es Salmouny led the team with a time of 12:24.00 while
Jerod Broadbooks and
Clayton Duchatschek finished right behind him with a time of 12:25.40 and 12:25.90 respectively.
The Lions had a total time of 1:02:25.60 with an average finish of 12:29.12 which was more than 20 seconds better than Truman State.
The women struggled to keep up with the Bulldogs as
Kayli Brower had the best finish among the Lions with a 15:54.00 final time. Truman State boasted a 15:28.62 average time per runner while Lindenwood tallied a time of 17:30.72 per athlete.
Both squads will be back in action on September 16 in Joplin, Mo. as they will compete in the Southern Stampede.
