The Lindenwood men's basketball team's latest comeback attempt fell three points short on Thursday night in Hyland Arena. The Lions lost a MIAA contest to Nebraska-Kearney by a 67-64 score.

A slow start for the Lions put the team in a 10-point hole at 17-7 just eight minutes in the game. In that span, the Lions made just one-of-eight shots from the field, while the Lopers connected on seven-of-11 field goals.

Lindenwood fought back the rest of the game, but never grab the lead. It trailed 35-32 at halftime, and it tied the game five different times in the second half. The final time was at 53 all with 5:46 remaining. Nebraska-Kearney went on a quick 5-0 run though and never trailed again.

The Lions did force four turnovers in the final two minutes, and had a chance to tie in the final seconds. Down two at 65-63, the Lions had two free throws with seven seconds left, but missed the first one. After the Lopers made two free throws, Lindenwood had a three-point attempt in the final second, but it missed the mark.

Nebraska-Kearney shot 48 percent for the game, including 44.4 percent from three-point range. Lindenwood shot 45.1 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from long distance, as the Lopers made three more three-pointers. Lindenwood had eight more free throw attempts, but Nebraska-Kearney shot over 90 percent from the line, and the Lions had just two more made free throws in the game.

Adam Pohlman had a career offensive night for Lindenwood. He made eight-of-11 from the field, including all three three-pointers he attempted. He finished with 22 points, three more than his previous career-high.

Brad Newman finished with 12 points for the Lions. Other team leaders were
Chandler Diekvoss with seven rebounds,
Jackson Price with three assists, and
Dominique Dobbs with three blocks.

Lindenwood falls to 13-7 on the season and 5-6 in MIAA action. The Lions will be home again on Saturday afternoon with a 3:30 p.m. game versus Fort Hays State.
