GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood women's hockey team (5-14-2, 1-7-1 CHA) lost 3-0 to Penn State (9-9-4, 3-6-0 CHA) on Sunday evening in University Park, Pa.
The Lions struggled in the opening frame, but
Sophie Wolf made 14 stops to keep it just a one-goal game at the intermission. Lindenwood was outshot 25-12 and 15-6 in the shots on goal category. The Nittany Lions scored at the 17:27 mark on the power play to take the lead.
Penn State again applied pressure in the second period, but Wolf tallied 11 more saves to keep the Lions within striking distance. The Nittany Lions opened the final period with a goal at the 2:43 mark to make it a two-goal game. Lindenwood surrendered the final goal at the 17:03 mark, as the Lions could not find the back of the net in the 3-0 loss on Sunday.
