Men's water polo won three and lost one at the Air Force Academy Tournament September 7-8 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The Lions led for most of the game against Redlands University on Saturday morning, but the Bulldogs capitalized on two exclusions and a penalty shot in the fourth quarter to edge Lindenwood 12-10.  Vuk Budrak led the Lions offense with four goals while six others each added one marker to the scoreboard.  Ratimir Babic paced Lindenwood with three assists and had two steals on defense.  Marcel Farres made 13 saves in goal while Anthony Coppin stopped two.

The Lions rebounded for a 16-11 victory over Denver University Saturday afternoon.  Mateo Lema and Babic led the offense with four goals each, followed by Nikola Vukic and Mitch Griffin with two each.  Four others added single markers.  Babic had three assists in the contest with Andres Miranda and Vukic helping on two scores each.  Griffin led the defense with three steals while Marino Chorro had two.  In goal, Farres stopped six shots and Coppin turned away three.

Lindenwood stopped the Air Force B squad 14-10 Sunday morning.  Vukic and Babic each scored four times, followed by Chorro with three markers.  Chorro led the Lions in assists with three, followed by Guillermo Aguirre and Andres Miranda with two each.  Chorro and Babic paced the defense with two steals each and Farres stopped 11 shots in goal.

In the final game of the weekend, Lindenwood defeated Ottawa University (Kan.) 18-14.  Lema and Branislav Stojiljkovic hit the back of the cage five times while seven others added single tallies.  Miranda led the Lions with three assists while Vukic and Koal Robson helped on two scores each.  Jorge Oliveros had four steals, followed by Curro Casado, Chorro, and Babic with two each.  Farres stopped 11 shots and Coppin made four saves in the contest.

Lindenwood improved to 6-3 on the young season.  The Lions travel across the river for a game against McKendree University Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. in O'Fallon, Illinois.  Lindenwood then hosts the first Missouri Valley Division weekend of the year September 14-15.  The Lions are scheduled to face Washington University and the University of Missouri with all games taking place at the St. Peters Rec-Plex in St. Peters, Missouri.
