The Lindenwood baseball team (7-1) posted a 4-2 victory over Northwood (1-4) on Saturday afternoon at Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.

Jacob Thompson set the tone for the Lions, as he tossed eight complete innings and struck out six batters.Â
Calvin Nowak continued his strong weekend in the bottom of the first, drawing a walk before stealing second base. Nowak scored on a single to right field by
Kolby Schulte to start the scoring. The Lions added a pair of runs in the third inning, as Schulte drove in
Bryce Beckmann and
Will Lanxon to make it a three-run lead.

Northwood scored an-unearned run in the top of the fifth, but Lindenwood answered in the bottom of the frame. Nowak singled to right field, and swiped second base for the sixth time on the weekend. Schulte drove in his fourth run of the game to give the Lions a 4-1 advantage. The Timberwolves cut the Lindenwood lead in half in the eighth inning, but the Lions held strong.Â
Eric Hipp closed the door in the final inning to give the Lions a 4-2 victory.
