No. 3 Lindenwood women's lacrosse (7-1, 0-0 GLVC) kept the offense rolling in an 18-2 victory against Shepherd (3-1, 0-0 PSAC) on Sunday.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions outshot the Rams, 34-17, in the game. Heading into halftime, Lindenwood owned an 11-1 lead, as the team never trailed in the game. The Lions got off to a hot start, scoring the game's first 11 goals, while holding Shepherd scoreless. The team's first six goals all were scored by different players.
Over the course of the game, Lindenwood scooped 21 ground balls, to Shepherd's 11. The Lions held the advantage on draw controls, 15-7, while also finishing with less turnovers than the Rams, 12-16. Lindenwood outscored Shepherd, 7-1 in the second half, while limiting the Rams to one goal scored in each half.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Lexy Biller and Carly Fedorowski both put up a game-high three goals scored against Shepherd.
- Aleksa Allen, Callie Eldred, Erin McGuire, and Paige Sutton scored two goals for the Lions, each. Hannah Doughty, Sara Grieco, Alex Hammonds, and Meghan Rea added a goal scored for the team.
- Hammonds dished out a career-high five assists, while Biller and Fedorowski also added two assists for Lindenwood.
- Emma Wildhart scooped a game-high four ground balls in the win.
- Shannon Modl, and Biller, finished with six and five draw controls, respectively. Modl's six draw controls led every player.
- Fedorowski and Modl both tallied two caused turnovers, totaling all of Lindenwood's forced turnovers (4).
- Eleanor Kast picked up her seventh win of the season, while making six saves for the Lions.
