The Lindenwood men's basketball team (4-1) picked up an 89-79 win over Westminster (3-3) on Tuesday evening in Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.

GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions jumped out to an early 11-2 lead with the help of seven points by
Romelo Burrell. With 8:12 to go in the first half,
Brandon Suggs registered his ninth point to give Lindenwood a double-digit lead. Lindenwood took its largest lead of the half on a three-point bucket by
Jacoby Ross, making it a 43-29 advantage with 4:55 in the half. The Lions held an 11-point lead at the break, as they scored 13 second-chance points, and 16 points off of turnovers. Burrell (12) and Ross (11) each had double-digit points in the first 20 minutes, as the Lions shot 46.3 percent in the opening half.

Lindenwood wasted no time getting points on the board in the second half, as Ross put the Lions ahead by 14 with his 14th point of the game. Lindenwood maintained a comfortable lead, before
Brandon Trimble broke the game open with a three pointer at 12:16 to make it a 17-point ballgame. The Lions allowed Westminster to pull within nine points, but continued to hit shots on the offensive end, as Lindenwood closed out the night with an 89-79 victory.

Lindenwood had five players register double-digit points on Tuesday night, led by Ross with 18. Suggs tallied his second double-double of the season as he tallied 11 points with 12 boards. Burrell nearly showcased a triple-double, as the senior scored 15 points, dished out eight assists, and pulled down eight rebounds. Lindenwood was hot from downtown, as Ross, Trimble, and
Kevin Caldwell Jr. combined for 12 of the 15 made three pointers on the night. Trimble led the squad with his three steals, as he added four rebounds to his 15 points.

Kyle Gerdeman. "Again, I thought we had a core group of guys that were really engaged and played well for long stretches. The consistent improvement is what we are after, both individually and as a team, and I think we got more of that tonight."
