The No. 2 Lindenwood women's lacrosse team (12-0, 7-0 GLVC) finished the regular season unbeaten after a win over Lewis (4-8, 2-5 GLVC). To go along with an undefeated regular season, the Lions also captured the inaugural GLVC women's lacrosse championship after the conference was unable to crown a champion last season.
GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead as six different players found the back of the net, including
Chloe Elliott who scored a pair of goals in the run. The Calgary, Alberta native finished the half with a career-high four goals. In the half, the Lions outshot Lewis 21-9, and scooped up five more ground balls than the Flyers, helping the team take a 12-2 lead into halftime.
Lindenwood scored the first six goals of the second half, including two from
Liz Beckner, as the Lions cruised to an 18-2 win. Across the second 30 minutes of play, the Lions compiled 10 shots on goal, while scooping up four ground balls and forcing six Flyers turnovers.
