The Lindenwood men's basketball team (9-10, 5-6 GLVC) lost a tough bout with Rockhurst (9-11, 4-6 GLVC) by a final of 72-63 on Saturday in Kansas City, Mo.

GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood got off to a slow start on Saturday, but a three pointer by
Jacoby Ross at the 13:18 mark tied the game at 9-9. Lindenwood took its first lead of the game a couple of minutes later after
Frazier Ott knocked down a floating jumper. Ross and
Trent Champagne knocked down back-to-back three pointers to extend the lead to 19-12.

The Lions got to the free throw line 10 times in the first half to help build their 33-30 lead at the half.Â
Romelo Burrell had eight points and eight rebounds, while
Brandon Suggs posted seven points and seven boards at the break.

Burrell hit a three pointer at the 17:08 mark in the second half to put the Lions ahead by eight points. Rockhurst chipped away at the lead, and eventually tied the game at 44-44 near the halfway point of the second half. The Hawks put together a solid lead, but a three-point bucket by Ross at the 6:49 mark made it a 54-53 Rockhurst lead. Lindenwood clawed to get back to even, but Rockhurst stayed strong and held on for the 72-63 win.

Kyle Gerdeman. "But take nothing away from Rockhurst, they made the plays to win the game. I was proud of our effort and competitiveness, and we were right there with a chance to win."
