The No. 1 Lindenwood women's lacrosse team fell to No.4 Le Moyne College 18-13 on Sunday in Baltimore, Maryland.
OVERVIEW
The Lions were up 5-4 after the first quarter, heading into the second with the lead, but Le Moyne quickly evened things out, making it 5-5 less than a minute in. The Dolphins put up two more goals before Lindenwood's next goal from
Paige Sutton, and that would be the last Lion goal before halftime. Le Moyne led 10-6 before the third quarter began.
After goals from
Hennessey Evans,
Bridget Considine and
Logann Eldredge in the third quarter, and only holding the Dolphins to two more goals, a fourth quarter comeback was on the rise for the Lions. The late efforts were not enough though, as the Dolphins went on a six-goal run in the fourth quarter.
Eldredge led the way for the Lions with four goals total, while Considine was next with three. Sutton had two goals total on the day, while Evans,
Breylin Bright,
Sara Grieco and
Meredith Parry all netted one each.
Kym Ardrey had the highest number of ground balls for Lindenwood with six total, and
Eleanor Kast made six total saves throughout the day.
