Men's Volleyball Edged by Loyola in MIVA Quarterfinals

The Lindenwood men's volleyball team fell to the Loyola Ramblers in three sets in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday evening.

OVERVIEW
The first set went to the Ramblers by a final score of 25-20 despite Lindenwood getting out with a 3-1 lead right off the bat. The Lions fought hard to maintain their lead but ultimately committed various errors that the Ramblers capitalized on in the end. 

Loyola took the second set 25-19 despite another hard-fought effort from the Lions. The Ramblers held their lead throughout the entirety of the set although Lindenwood kept things close. 

The Lions fell in the third set by a close 25-22 loss in a strong comeback attempt. The two squads went point for point all the way up until the end of the set, when back to back Lindenwood errors made things 22-19. After that, the Ramblers built off their small bout of momentum to take the set in the end.

Noteworthy performances came from A.J. Lewis, who led the way for the Lions with 16 total kills on the day. Connor Sheehan put up 38 set assists to keep the offense rolling, and also tied Lewis for the most digs total with seven apiece. Alex Pappas grabbed the lone service ace for the Lions, and Cal Werths put up the best hitting percentage with 1.000 on the day.
