On Saturday morning, the Lindenwood women's lacrosse team (1-3) returned to Hunter Stadium to take on the UC Davis Aggies. The Lions fell to the Aggies in closely contested battle by a score of 13-12.
Overview
The Lions started off with the first tally of the game, coming off an
Isabella Rulapaugh shot. The Aggies would control the rest of the quarter scoring four unanswered to end the first frame, with the Aggies leading 4-1. In the second quarter, both teams would score five goals each with the Aggies leading 9-6 at half. Scorers for the Lions in the second quarter included two scores from
Emma Arnold, and
Logann Eldredge,
Lindsey Smith, and
Sara Grieco netting one a piece.
To start off the second half, the Lions would start off the scoring coming from Eldredge. The Aggies would strike two of their own in the third quarter, with the Lions scoring twice more in the period coming from Arnold and
Lexy Biller, ending the third period with UC Davis leading 11-10. In the fourth the Lions would start off the scoring again, coming from Biller. UC Davis would bounce back scoring two of their own to increase their lead to three. The Lions would close the deficit to one, scoring twice with less than two minutes to go, coming from Eldredge and Biller. The Lions would end up falling short losing to UC Davis 13-12.
Biller, Eldredge, and Arnold led the lions in points all having three. Biller, Eldredge, and Arnold also led the team in goals, all having three.
Eleanor Kast started in net for the Lions, making 13 saves on 26 shots on cage. To cap off the day, Biller broke the program record in career draw controls, with 223 draw controls and counting.
