Women's Lacrosse Wins 14-13 on Senior Day

On Sunday, the Lindenwood women's lacrosse team (7-7) face-offed against Coastal Carolina in their final home game of the season as well as Senior Day. In a closely contested matchup, the Lions would overcome an early 4-0 deficit in the first quarter to come back and win 14-13 in historic fashion.

Overview
The Chanticleers started out hot, netting in the first four goals of the game. Logann Eldredge would stop the Chanticleers 4-0 run, with a goal at the 8:42 mark of the first frame. The Chanticleers would score once more to end the quarter. The Lions would rally back at the latter part of the quarter scoring three unanswered goals to close the gap to 5-4 to end the period. Scorers for the Lions in the first included Eldredge, Meredith Parry, Lexy Biller, and Elisabeth Ralph. The Lions would start off the scoring in the second quarter, tallying two in a row coming from Eldredge. The Chanticleers would bounce back with two goals of their own. Eldredge would be the final scorer for the Lions in the first half. With one second left in the quarter, the Chanticleers would net one in to lead 8-7 going into the second half.

In the third quarter, the Chanticleers would score back-to-back goals to start off the frame, increasing their lead to three. The Lions would rattle off two goals to end the quarter trailing 10-9. In the fourth quarter, the Lions would start off the scoring coming from Parry. The Lions and Chanticleers would trade off goals, both scoring twice. At the 3:03 mark in the fourth, Eldredge would knock one in to tie up the score 13-13. With 56 seconds to go in the game, Eldredge would find a lane and score to be the eventual game winner.

Eleanor Kast started in net, making seven saves. Eldredge would hit 61 points in a season, tying her previous career high in a season.
