The Lindenwood women's tennis team opened the spring portion of their 2023-24 season at the University of Minnesota, falling 7-0.
In the singles competition, Yana Gaskell fell 6-0 and 6-1 to Mia Liepert, Fabiana Labrador dropped a 7-5 and 6-2 match to Aiva Schmitz, while Juliana Kulcynski fell 6-0 in both sets to Anali Kocevar. Rounding out the singles competition were Jordan Le, Eveline Nilsson and Sarah Ben Aba. Le's match also ended 6-0 in both sets to Emma Belluomini. Nilsson dropped two sets to Sofia Pinto by a score of 6-2. Ben Aba's sets concluded with scores of 6-2 and 6-3 to Sofia Pizzoni.
In doubles, Kulcynski and Gaskell fell 6-1 to Liepert and Pinto, Le and Nilsson dropped a 6-0 match to Belluomini and Kocevar, while Labrador and Ben Aba fell 6-1 to Schmitz and Pizzoni.
Women's tennis will be back in action again tomorrow, January 21st at 9:00 am as they travel to St. Paul, Minnesota, to face the University of St. Thomas.
