Three Lions have been nominated for the MA Sorensen Award, presented to the best women's collegiate player in the country each year since 2016. Junior
Amy Brice from Australia, junior
Freda Tafuna from California, and graduate student
Taina Tukuafu from Hawaii are among 17 players receiving nomination by the Sorensen Award Panel.
The award is named after Maryann (MA) Sorensen, a former player at William & Mary who became a World Cup winning prop, coach, and successful doctor and has been a huge part of the growth of women's rugby.
The list of 17 nominees will be narrowed to a group of four or five finalists by votes from those in the rugby community including coaches, players, and fans. The winner will be announced on June 8 at the Washington Athletic Club gala event in Seattle, Washington. Fans wishing to help with the voting process, can find out more information at this
