ST. CHARLES, MO. – Lindenwood women's soccer proudly announces the addition of Megan McClure to its coaching staff for the upcoming 2024 season. McClure will serve as an assistant coach for the Lions.
"Megan is an excellent addition to our program as she brings in an elite level of experience both as a coach and player at the NCAA Division I level," head coach
Dave Musso said. "She will be a positive role model for these ladies both on the field helping them reach higher levels and off the field as we continue to renovate our identity."
McClure joins the staff after a one-year stint at Arkansas State University. McClure served as assistant coach for the Redwolves during 2023, where the Redwolves went 4-8-4.
"I am very excited to join the Lindenwood University women's soccer staff. I look forward to fostering growth in players and helping them reach their full potential," said McClure. "This position is a great platform to share my knowledge of the game with student athletes. I am passionate about what I do and eager for this upcoming season with the Lions."
Prior to coaching at Arkansas State, McClure played professional soccer at KFF Vllaznia Shkodër in 2022, in Albania.
"This allows us to shift our staffing structure. Megan will now assume full goalkeeping responsibilities which allows assistant coach,
Euan Morton, to solely coach our field players."
A native of Saint Louis, McClure grew up playing competitive soccer in Missouri. McClure was a standout goalkeeper at Arkansas State for five seasons, holding the program record in wins (33), goals-against average (0.97), shutouts (27), starts (64) and minutes played (5,833). Her 270 career saves rank third in program history. As a five-year starter at Arkansas State, McClure won two Sun-Belt regular season conference titles (2020, 2021), was All-Conference first team twice (2020, 2021), Sun-Belt Defensive Player of the Year (2020), and Sun-Belt Goalkeeper of the Year (2021). Before college, McClure played at Webster Groves High School, where she was a state champion (2017), and an All-American.
