The Lindenwood baseball team (16-38, 9-18 OVC) fell in the final game of the season to Eastern Illinois (20-32, 12-14 OVC), 9-3 on Saturday afternoon from Lou Brock Sports Complex
GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions used their legs to get going in the first. After a leadoff hit from
Colin Shea, he stole second and third and eventually scored on a single from
James Jett, making the score 1-0. Jett also stole two bases in the inning and came around, pushing the score to 2-0.
Lindenwood maintained a 2-0 lead until the fourth when Eastern Illinois put three on the board to grab a 3-2 lead. The Panthers scored a run in the fifth, six, and two in the seventh to pull ahead 7-2. Lindenwood got within four in the eighth as
Jack Meyer came through with a pinch-hit RBI single to score
Dawson Hokuf, moving the score to 7-3. Eastern Illinois put two more on the board in the ninth, taking a 9-3 lead. Lindenwood was unable to draw any closer and fell by that score.
