Lindenwood University rugby is thrilled to announce that freshman standout (Isaiah)
Zay Amaro has been selected to attend the USA Men's Pathways U20 Winter Camp, a national talent identification and development camp ahead of next year's U20 Junior World Championship.
Eagles Rugby
The winter camp, set to take place in North Carolina between Christmas and New Year's Day, brings together the top 50 U20 prospects from across the country for an intensive five-day training and evaluation period. Players will work with national coaches to refine skills, build cohesion, and take their game to the next level as they compete for future Junior National Team opportunities.
For Zay, the invitation underscores a breakout start to his Lindenwood career. Hailing from Valor Christian High School in Aurora, Colorado, he was a multi-sport athletic stand out. As a freshman, his performances on the pitch and quick adaptation to the Lindenwood environment have seen him shoot up the roster and earn several top team selections. Being chosen for this camp reflects not only his ability, but also the high-performance environment cultivated within the Lions program.
"We couldn't be prouder of Isaiah," said Lindenwood Head Coach
Josh Macy. "To represent your country at any level is an honor, and Isaiah's dedication, work ethic, and competitive drive make him an outstanding ambassador for our program. We're excited to watch him compete and grow."
The USA Rugby Pathways program is a crucial part of the national development structure, providing elite prospects with focused coaching and the chance to build chemistry with peers from around the country as they prepare for upcoming international challenges, including the 2026 Junior World Championship in Georgia.
Zay's selection continues the proud Lindenwood rugby tradition of developing talent capable of competing on the national stage and exemplifies the program's commitment to excellence both on and off the pitch.
Please join the Lions in congratulating
Zay Amaro on this incredible opportunity and follow his journey with Team USA this winter.
