Denton McNamee

Denton McNamee enters his second season on the baseball staff in 2025. He serves as the pitching coach. 

In 2024, the Lions won 16 games, including nine inside the Ohio Valley Conference. Josh Newell was tabbed conference pitcher of the week one during the season, while Dawson Hokuf went on to earn second team all-OVC honors. Hokuf finished the 2024 season hitting .344, and led the team in home runs (6) and RBI's (33).  

Prior to arriving in St. Charles, McNamee was the pitching coach for nearby Maryville where they set the record twice for wins in a season and the team strikeout record in 2022. He helped produce nine all conference players.

McNamee recently was the performance coach for the Quad Cities River Bandits (Houston Astros Organization) where he was in charge of all MILB outfield development plans. He also had five players make their MLB debuts.

Prior to his time for the River Bandits, McNamee worked for the Elite Baseball Academy in St. Louis, Mo. where he handled the day-to-day operations at all three locations.

He earned his bachelor and master's degree from Rockhurst University in 2017.
