Nadia Alexander-Pompey began her tenure as the head coach of the men’s and women’s track & field and cross country program in August of 2022.

During her first year at the helm of the men's and women's track & field and cross country teams, Alexander-Pompey coached the 2022 OVC Cross Country Female Freshman of the Year.  Ten athletes placed at the OVC Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Under Alexander-Pompey, Gabby Russina broke the 400m program record at the Music City Challenge on April 28-29. 
 
Alexander-Pompey comes to Lindenwood after spending the last year at Louisiana Tech as the associate head coach.  Alexander-Pompey began a stint at Florida A&M, and was the head coach of the women's program in 2020 and 2021, as the team earned USTFCCCA all-academic honors.  Prior to her time in Tallahassee, Fla., Alexander-Pompey spent one season at Mississippi Valley State as the head coach, helping five athletes qualify for the 2019 NCAA East Prelims, the most in school history.  During her stop, two athletes earned USTFCCCA All-American recognition, while the women’s team earned NCAA Academic All-American honors.
 
Alexander-Pompey earned her first head coaching gig in August of 2016 as she led Shaw University through the 2018 outdoor season.  She guided a total of four NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field qualifiers, and four USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.  The women’s team earned USTFCCCA All-American recognition.  During the 2017-18 season at Shaw, the individual winner of the men’s cross country conference championships was her freshman runner while the women’s cross country team finished with an all-conference performer. In the spring, the women’s outdoor team elevated to a new level breaking nine school records with four student-athletes provisionally qualifying for the Division II NCAA Championships.

In Alexander-Pompey's first year at Shaw, the women's outdoor track and field team had a breakthrough season. The Bears had a women’s Division II NCAA Outdoor Championship participant, which was last achieved in 2002. Her student-athlete earned second-team All-American honors as well as Academic All-American accolades. In addition, two student-athletes were named to the USTFCCCA All-Region Team.

Before arriving in Raleigh, N.C., Alexander-Pompey spent three seasons at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania.  During her tenure at Lincoln, she coached four Division II NCAA National qualifiers (shot-put, discus, & long jump), five conference champions (shot-put & discus) and one Field MVP honoree of the conference outdoor championships.  She entered the coaching profession in January of 2011, when she joined the Virginia State staff for two seasons.

Alexander-Pompey lettered at Louisiana Tech from 2005 through 2009 where she helped lead the program to four Western Athletic Conference indoor titles, and five Western Athletic Conference outdoor titles during her time in Ruston.  She was a three-time all-conference honoree in the shot put in indoor track and field (2006, 2007, 2008), and a two-time all-conference honoree in the shot put in outdoor track and field (2008, 2009).  She was the WAC Indoor Champion in the shot put in 2009 with a throw of 52-10.25 and the Outdoor Champion in 2008 (54-6.75) and 2009 (54-0.5). 

Alexander-Pompey posted her name in the record books with the top six marks in the shot put in outdoor, including the school record throw of 54-8.75 in Philadelphia in April of 2009 at the Penn Relays where she won the event.  She put her name on the top two sports in the shot put in indoor competition, including the school record throw of 53-7.5 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in 2008. 
 
Alexander-Pompey earned her bachelor’s of general study with a concentration in social science from Louisiana Tech in 2009.  She finished her master’s of sport management, health, physical education, and recreation from Virginia State in 2012.
