Phil Vida

Phil Vida has been a member of the Lindenwood coaching staff since January 2004, has led the women’s bowling team for most of that time, and has been head coach of the Lindenwood program overall since the summer of 2010.  He brings over 25 years of general bowling coaching experience and over 20 years of experience at the college level.    
 
Under his tenure, the Lady Lions have enjoyed a history of success.  They won their first ever national USBC Intercollegiate Team Championship (ITC) title in 2006, earned runner-up finishes in 2009 and 2011, advanced to the semifinals in 2012, 2014, and 2019, and made the 16 team ITC field 15 out of 16 years.  Lindenwood also captured the Carlson Cup Championship in 2014, and in 2018, the Lady Lions won their second ITC Championship.
 
Vida bowled for three years at (Southwest) Missouri State University, and began his college coaching career in 1992 when he returned to his alma mater and helped lead the Lady Bears to their first national championship tournament appearance in program history.
 
During his tenure at Lindenwood, Vida has coached nine National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA) Women’s All-Americans, and five players were named to ITC All-Tournament Teams. Three Lady Lions were also members of Junior Team USA at one time. He was named 2018-19 Women's Team Coach of the Year by the NCBCA and has been nominated numerous other times.  He is certified as a Silver Level coach through the USBC and earned a bachelor's degree in Communications from Missouri State.
