Dominic Shaw joined the men’s rugby staff as Associate Head Coach in September 2026, bringing an extensive background in collegiate coaching, high-performance sport, strength and conditioning, and international rugby to the Lion.

Prior to arriving at Lindenwood, he served as Director of Rugby and Head Coach at Arkansas State University from 2022-2026. During his tenure, Shaw oversaw the full operation of the Red Wolves men’s rugby program, including coaching, recruiting, athlete development, academic monitoring, video analysis, and coordination of the program’s physical preparation and medical support. Arkansas State reached the D1A postseason in each of his four seasons leading the program, including national quarterfinal appearances in 2022 and 2024.

Shaw is a native of South Africa and his career has taken him through rugby environments across the United States, South Africa, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East.

Before arriving at Arkansas State, Shaw served as Head of Physical Performance for Rugby Club Lokomotiv Penza in Russia and previously worked with the Golden Lions Rugby Union in Johannesburg, South Africa where he was involved in the physical preparation and development of elite U18 players. He also spent four years as Head of Physical Performance at Jeppe High School for Boys, one of South Africa’s prominent rugby-playing schools.

His high-performance background also includes work as a GPS Analyst with the South African Springboks during the 2015 Rugby Championship and Rugby World Cup, where he monitored player loads, high-speed running, repeated high-intensity efforts, and other performance metrics. Shaw has additionally provided sports science support to organizations including Northampton Saints, Harlequins, Leicester Tigers, Bristol Rugby, and several professional soccer clubs in the United Kingdom.
