Series Notes
- Lindenwood starts 2013 with four home games in five days. The first two games are a non-conference series against WCHA's Minnesota State.
- Lindenwood enters the series with a 1-14-1 record on the season, while Minnesota State is 6-11-3 overall.
- The Lady Lions are currently tied for fifth in College Hockey America with three points. Minnesota State is in sixth place in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association with 16 points.
- Lindenwood and Minnesota State have already met twice this season in Mankato, Minn. Minnesota State won game one by a 3-0 margin and won game two by a 4-1 score.
- The Lady Lions were within one goal after two periods in both previous games against Minnesota State, but they were outscored 2-0 in the third period.
- Lindenwood allowed just three even-strength goals in the first series with the Mavericks.
- Goalie
Nicole Hensley played all 120 minutes against Minnesota State and stopped 92.1 percent of the shots that she faced.
- Minnesota State was led offensively in the first series by Melissa Klippenstein who had three points. Danielle Butters made 50 of 51 saves in the series.
- Lindenwood is 0-4-0 all-time against Minnesota State, with three of the four games being decided by three goals or less. All four of the previous games took place in Mankato.
- Lindenwood is 1-7-0 at Lindenwood Ice Arena this season and have lost three straight by a combined four goals. Minnesota State is 2-8-0 on the road this year. It split its last road series at St. Cloud State.
A Look Back At RIT
- Lindenwood went 0-1-1 last time out during a CHA series against RIT.
- The Lady Lions lost the first game by a 5-1 margin and they were outshot 40-20 in that game.
- Lindenwood and RIT tied 1-1 in the final game of the series. The tie was the first in Lindenwood's NCAA history.
- The Lady Lions held RIT to just two-for-10 on the power play during the series, but Lindenwood was 0-for-9 with a man advantage.

Nicole Hensley stopped 97.8 percent of the shots that she faced in game two of the series.

Chelsea Witwicke were also positive for the two games.

Alison Wickenheiser scored Lindenwood's goal in game two of the series and now leads the team with eight points.

Lindenwood Notes
- Lindenwood's
Nicole Hensley was named the CHA Rookie of the Week on Dec. 17. She is the first Lady Lion to receive that honor and the second to earn a CHA weekly award.
- Over the last six games, Lindenwood's defense is allowing just 2.67 goals a game. In the first 10 games of the year, the team was allowing 5.50 goals a game.
- Lindenwood's top defensive line has been anchored lately by
Megan Cox and
Chelsea Witwicke. Those two have paired up on the top defensive line for the last eight games.
- Lindenwood's Triple-A line of
Alison Wickenheiser,
Alyssa West, and Allyson Aricbal returned versus RIT. The trio took over 50 percent of Lindenwood's shots in the series.

Kendra Broad assisted on one of Lindenwood's goals last weekend and she was on the ice for both goals. She has two goals and three assists on the year.

College Hockey America Notes
- Mercyhurst is the lone nationally-ranked team out of the CHA. The Lakers are No. 7 in the USCHO and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls. Robert Morris is receiving votes in both polls.
- Lindenwood resumes its CHA schedule on Jan. 11-12 with a road series at Robert Morris. That starts a season-ending stretch of 14 straight conference contests.
About The Mavericks
- Minnesota State ranks seventh in NCAA Division I for its special teams play. It is scoring on 18.8 percent of its power-play chances, and killing power plays over 80 percent of the time.
- Goalie Danielle Butters is fifth in NCAA Division I with three shutouts, and she leads the nation with 614 saves. She has a 2.76 GAA and a .921 save percentage.
- Lauren Smith is the team's top offensive threat with 12 goals and 19 points. She has a team-high four power-play goals and three game-winning goals. Emilia Andersson has a team-high nine assists.
- Head coach of Minnesota State is Eric Means. He is in his fourth season and has a 28-84-12 record.
