Box Score The Lindenwood women's lacrosse team scored 14 times in the first half and easily picked up its ninth win of the season on Friday evening with a 19-8 victory over American International.
One game after breaking the conference record for single-game assists,
Lexi Crusha set a new standard with nine assists. She also had two goals and finished with 11 points, the most in the Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (WILA) this season.
Lindsey Palmer had four goals and one assist, and
Kara Cashen tied her for the team-high with four goals.
Kathryn St. George added three goals and
Melissa Menchella had two goals, including the game-winner. Other goal scorers were
Justiene Groothuis with two, and one apiece for
Jordyn Constance and
Taylor Mayeda.
Christine Hehmeyer started the game in goal and got the victory after making six saves and allowing seven goals.
Brittany Frankenfeld played the final 12 minutes in goal and made three saves while allowing just one goal. Groothuis and
Stephanie Tirman led the team with three groundballs and Cashen caused two turnovers.
Ana Gullett won a team-high three draw controls.
Lindenwood improves to 9-2 on the season. The Lady Lions will host Regis on Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m. in a battle between the top two teams in the WILA.
