Lions Dominate Greenville in Home Opener

The Lindenwood men's basketball team opened its home portion of the schedule with a thrashing of the Greenville Panthers 106-63 in St. Charles on Wednesday night.
 
It was all Lindenwood from the opening tip.  Lindenwood pushed the lead into double digits just 13 minutes into the game and then closed the first half on a huge run to lead by 24 heading into the locker room.
 
Things did not get better for the Panthers in the second half. The Lions offense did not let off the throttle running the lead up to as many as 45 and cruised to its first win of the season.
 
Every player who played for Lindenwood scored at least two points and four out of five starters scored in double figures. Darris Smith led the way scoring 15 points while Cory Arentsen scored 13, Garret Reeg 12, and Chanse Creekmur chipped in 11. Nick Carlos came of the bench and scored 10.
 
The Lions dominated the Panthers on the glass outrebounding the visitors 52-33.  Lindenwood had its best shooting night of the young season shooting 53 percent from the field and 44 percent from behind the arc.
 
With the win the Lions move to 1-2 on the season. Lindenwood will be back out on the road this weekend the team travels to Quincy.
