Box Score The No. 5 Lindenwood women's lacrosse team lost its top-five showdown at No. 3 Limestone on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Lions fell by a score of 15-7.
Limestone took a 6-2 lead into halftime and the Lady Lions could never get closer than that in the second half as the two teams traded goals for most of the final 30 minutes. The final margin was deceiving as the Saints scored three times in the final four minutes for the final eight-goal spread.
Limestone outshot Lindenwood by a 41-16 margin, and the Lady Lions had 10 more turnovers in the game. Fouls also came into play as Lindenwood had 24 more called on it, and Limestone had five more free-position opportunities.

Melissa Menchella led Lindenwood with four goals.
Melissa Smith and
Jordyn Constance each had one goal and one assist.
Maddi Ossello added Lindenwood's final goal, and Lyndsey Palmer and
Erin Abbott had one assist apiece.
Abbott and
Christine Hehmeyer each made six groundballs, and Smith had a team-high two caused turnovers. Abbott also led the team with four draw controls. Hehmeyer made 11 saves in goals.
Lindenwood concludes the regular season with a 14-3 overall record. The Lady Lions learn their NCAA Tournament fate on Sunday evening with the Selection Show scheduled for 7 p.m. (CDT).
