The Lindenwood men's volleyball team saw its regular season non-conference winning streak snapped at 17 matches on Wednesday night at Hyland Arena. The Lions fell in four sets to Missouri Baptist by scores of 22-25, 26-24, 25-22, and 25-22.
After a strong first set offensively, the Lions were held in check for the final three sets. Lindenwood hit just .110 after winning the first set, and averaged just 8.7 kills a set for the final three games. The Lions also made 18 service errors and eight reception errors in the contest.
Lindenwood had a balanced offense, including 11 kills from
Colin Hackworth and 10 from
Kyle Overby.
Zach Bequette had eight kills and a .583 hitting percentage, while
Logan Jarus had seven kills and hit over .400.
Connor Metcalfe had team-highs of 34 assists and eight digs, and Jarus had a team-high six blocks.
Lindenwood falls to 2-1 on the season. The Lions will start MIVA play on Jan. 30 at IPFW.
