The Lindenwood men's basketball team fell, 72-70, to the Truman State Bulldogs on Thursday evening. The Lions have now dropped 10 games in a row.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions trailed, 36-27, heading into the locker room after falling behind by as much as 11 points in the first half. The team shot 42.9 percent from the field in the first half, including a surprising 0-8 from the three-point line, where
Luka Radosevic and
Cameron Scales were a combined 0-6 after the first 20 minutes. The Lions were held to four free throw attempts, hitting on three of them.
The second half was a different story for Lindenwood. Coming back from the halftime deficit, and even leading 55-54 at one point, the team came up just short in their bid to end their nine-game losing streak. The team shot an insane 77.8 percent from deep in the second half, and shot 48.1 percent from the field. The Lions got to the free throw line 11 times in the final 20 minutes, hitting on 10 of the attempts.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- TJ Crockett scored a team-high 25 points, hitting 8-12 shots and 8-9 free throws, for his team-leading 14th 20-point effort of the season.
- Crockett has hit at least eight free throws in a game five times this season.
- Vijay Blackmon added 19 points for the Lions, hitting on 7-12 shots and going 4-6 from beyond the arc.
- Both Sukhman Bhinder and Blackmon finished with five rebounds in the game to lead the team.
- Anthony Christian finished with a team-high two assists, finishing as the team-leader in assists for the first time in his career.
- Lindenwood recorded seven steals, with Blackmon and Crockett finishing with two steals each.

"I know I continue to say it, but the character of this team continues to shine through," said Head Coach
Kyle Gerdeman. "On the road at the number two team in the GLVC, with the ball in our hands and a chance to win, not much else we could ask for."
