No. 3 Women's Lacrosse Captures Home Victory Against Findlay

No. 3 Lindenwood women's lacrosse (6-1, 0-0 GLVC) won in blowout fashion, 21-5, against Findlay (2-3, 0-0 G-MAC) on Friday.

GAME OVERVIEW
Heading into halftime, Lindenwood owned a 14-2 lead over Findlay. The Lions outshot the Oilers, 17-2, over the first 30 minutes of the game. Lindenwood scooped up a higher number of ground balls, 8-5, than Findlay did, in the first half. The Lions recorded seven more draw controls than the Oilers, in the first half, while turning the ball over three less times. Lindenwood went 3-3 on free-position shots in the first half.

The second half saw the Lions continue to dominate, as they outscored the Oilers, 7-3 in the second half. Lindenwood recorded nine more shots than Findlay, while scooping up one more ground ball. The Lions continued to have the edge on draw controls, finishing 7-3 in the second half, and 18-7 over the course of the game. For the second-straight half, the Lions finished with exactly seven turnovers.

  • Erin McGuire and Meghan Rea both scored four goals in the game to lead the team. Hannah Doughty added three goals scored for the Lions.
  • Lexy Biller, Callie Eldred, and Paige Sutton all finished with two goals scored.
  • Carly Fedorowski had a team-high four assists in the win. McGuire had two assists, giving her six points in the game.
  • Shannon Modl, Alana Jeronimo, and Fedorowski all scooped up three ground balls.
  • Biller finished the game with 11 draw controls, which was a season-high for the junior.
  • Jeronimo caused three turnovers in the game, which was tops on the team.
  • Eleanor Kast finished with two saves, and picked up the win, which marked her sixth of the season.
