Women's rugby finished fifth in the Elite division and second in the Collegiate division at the LA Sevens Invitational February 28 in Carson, California.

The Lions began the day with a 44-7 win over Oregon State University in the Elite field on Friday, but then lost to Atlantis 17-7 to get knocked out of championship contention.  Lindenwood rebounded for a 26-20 victory against the All Blues, but then fell once again to ORSU 17-10.  The Lions finished the event with a 20-7 victory over Atlantis in the fifth place game.
 
In collegiate competition, Lindenwood started with three straight wins to advance to the championship game.  The Lions impressed with a 59-5 victory over Carolina, a 43-7 win against Regina Canada, and a 38-5 victory versus Weber State, but the offense was held in check against Guelf in the final.  Lindenwood was shutout 5-0 to take second place overall.
