BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - The Ohio Valley Conference announced that
Keenon Cole was named to the 2023-24 All-OVC Second Team after his senior season. Cole led the Lions in most offensive categories to end his career.
Cole played in 30 of 31 games this season making 30 starts. He finished the season with 544 points and averaged 18.1 points per game which ranked fourth in the OVC. Cole led the Lions in scoring while also pulling down a team-high 6.2 rebounds per game (9th - OVC).
During his senior season, Cole scored a career-high 42 points in a 74-68 victory at Southeast Missouri State. At the time, it marked the most points scored in a single game by any Division I player in 2023-24. He also became the first Lion to score over 40 points in the Division I era.
He became the first player since Tennessee State's Jr Clay last season to score over 40 points. Forty-two points was also the most by an OVC player since Terry Taylor scored 42 while at Austin Peay in 2019.
Cole scored in double-digits in all but one game he played in. He also scored over 20 points 10 times during his senior season while posting five doubles-doubles. He was one of the best free-throw shooters in the conference ranking eighth in FT% (81.5%) and second in FT made (167).
He was the only Lion this season to play over 1000 minutes (1034) and averaged 34.5 minutes per game which also ranked second in the OVC. This also marked the second straight season Cole was named to the All-OVC second team.
