ST. CHARLES, Mo. -
Keenon Cole from Lindenwood men's basketball signed his professional contract to play overseas for the Norrköping Dolphins in Norrköping, Sweden. Cole is coming off his best season at Lindenwood leading the Lions in most statistical categories.
Originally from Streamwood, Ill., Cole played in 30 of 31 games last season making 30 starts. He finished the season with 544 points and averaged 18.1 points per game which ranked fourth in the OVC. Cole also pulled down a team-high 6.2 rebounds per game which was ninth in the conference.
One of Cole's most memorable performances was at Southeast Missouri where he scored a Lindenwood Division I record 42 points in a 74-68 victory. At the time, it was the most points scored by a Division I player (6th most in a game in the NCAA in 2023-24).
He became the first player since Tennessee State's Jr Clay to score over 40 points in the OVC. Forty-two points was also the most by an OVC player since Terry Taylor scored 42 while at Austin Peay in 2019.
Cole scored in double-digits in all but one game during the 2023-24 season. He also scored over 20 points 10 times during his senior year while posting five doubles-doubles. He was one of the best free-throw shooters in the conference ranking eighth in FT% (81.5%) and second in FT made (167).
He was the only Lion last season to play over 1000 minutes (1034) and averaged 34.5 minutes per night which also ranked second in the OVC. This also marked the second straight season Cole was named to the All-OVC second team.
The Norrköping Dolphins play their home games at Stadium Arena and are seven time league champs in the Basketligan, the highest league in Sweden. The Dolphins are four time defending champions and are looking to compete in international play in the Champions League Qualifiers.
