Women’s Lacrosse Roars Past Kennesaw State

ST. CHARLES, MO – On Wednesday afternoon, women's lacrosse took on Kennesaw State in Lindenwood's fourth conference matchup of the season. A strong offensive first half propelled the Lions over the Owls, with Lindenwood defeating Kennesaw State 17-6.

GAME OVERVIEW
In the first quarter, Lindenwood outscored the Owls 7-1. The Lions would start off the frame, scoring the first three goals, coming from Sara Grieco, Logann Eldredge, and Alissa Digiacinto. Kennesaw State would find their first goal of the game at 4:42. Lindenwood would continue their hot offensive start scoring the last four goals of the frame, coming from Eldredge, Digiacinto, and Grieco. After one, Lindenwood led 7-1.

In the second quarter, the Lions would start the frame scoring four straight, extending their lead to ten. Kennesaw State would find their second goal of the game at 4:20 in the second quarter. Eldredge would bring the Lions lead back to ten at 4:08. Kennesaw State would score the final goal of the frame at 0:39. After one half of play, Lindenwood would lead Kennesaw State 12-3. Goal scorers in the period included, Kiley Davis, Grieco, Digiacinto, and Reese Krieger.

In the third quarter, the Owls would get on the board first at 13:21. The Lions would hold the Owls scoreless for the remainder of the quarter. Lindenwood would score the final three goals of the frame, leading 15-4 going into the final quarter of play. Goal scorers in the frame included, Digiacinto, Eldredge, and Davis.

In the fourth, Lindenwood would start off the frame scoring the first two goals, coming from Isabella Rulapaugh and Lindsey Smith. With 11:37 to go, Lindenwood would lead 17-4 over the Owls. The Owls would score the final two goals of the game, cutting their deficit with the Lions to eleven.

After this matchup, Lindenwood improved to 12-3 on the season and 2-2 in ASUN play. Elizabeth Goth would get the nod in net, making nine saves.
