The Lindenwood baseball team (13-25, 6-8 OVC) dropped the second game of its weekend series to Morehead State (22-17, 7-7 OVC) by a final score of 10-4 on Saturday afternoon in Morehead, Ky.
GAME OVERVIEW
Following Friday night's thrilling ninth-inning comeback, Lindenwood wasted little time taking an early lead over Morehead State on Saturday, as
Bryson Arnette singled home
Kam Edwards who had doubled earlier in the inning.
The score remained 1-0 into the top of the fourth inning, which began with a
Dawson Hokuf walk and another Arnette single.
Filip Sarota was the third Lion to come to the plate during the inning and he promptly blasted a three-run homerun to left field, extending the Lindenwood lead to 4-0.
Lindenwood successfully protected its four-run advantage into the bottom of the sixth inning, at which point Morehead State put up four runs of their own to even the score at 4-4.
The Eagles added another four runs during the home half of the seventh inning and two additional runs during the bottom of the eighth inning, building a 10-4 lead over the Lions.
Eli Brown started the game on the mound for Lindenwood, striking out three batters and allowing four earned runs. Brown began the game with five scoreless innings.
