ST. CHARLES, MO. — The NCAA Division I Strategic Vision and Planning Committee has officially notified Lindenwood University that it has advanced into year three of the four-year NCAA classification process. This significant milestone reflects the university's commitment to excellence in athletics and academics.
"We are very appreciative of the support and guidance our colleagues have provided from the NCAA national office," said Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Jason Coomer. "A tremendous amount of work has gone into this process from our staff and institution as a whole, and I am very happy to see all of their efforts be noticed by the committee. We look forward to getting through the back half of this reclassification process as Lindenwood University has already earned much respect from our peers and colleagues in the Division I ranks. Today's news is a great thing for the Lindenwood and Saint Charles community as well as our alumni."
During the second year of reclassification, the NCAA conducted a comprehensive compliance audit on campus. The audit findings were later submitted to both the university and the Strategic Vision and Planning Committee. Lindenwood University's dedication to rules compliance and integrity played a crucial role in this successful transition.
Notably, Lindenwood student-athletes continue to excel in the classroom. In the fall semester, they achieved an impressive 3.37 GPA, with 340 students posting a 3.5 GPA or higher, and 158 students earning a perfect 4.0.
Lindenwood will enter its third Division I season as a member of the Ohio Valley Conference, starting in the Fall of 2024. As of July 1
