After being upended by Carshield in the 2024 TORHS Winter Classic championship final last year, roller hockey returned the favor with a 3-2 win over that same Carshield squad in the 2025 title game Sunday afternoon at Vetta 70 in St. Peters, Missouri.
Luke DiPasquale Won the Top Scorer Award
Despite the outcome, the tournament did not start well for the Lions as they were defeated by Carshield 5-4 on Saturday morning, but Lindenwood bounced back for a 7-2 victory over the Lizards later in the afternoon.
The 1-1 record was enough to advance to the AAA Division semifinals Sunday morning. Playing the Lizards for the second time in a row, it was a much closer game that went to overtime tied 3-3. After neither team scored in the extra session, the outcome was settled with a shootout and the Lions survived to get a 4-3 win, setting up a rematch against Carshield. The two squads were evenly matched, but Lindenwood prevailed 3-2 to hoist the championship trophy for the fourth time in the last five years.
