The 16 teams in the 2025 USA Rugby/College Rugby Association of America (CRAA) D1A National Championship are officially set, with the Lions earning the No. 3 seed on the eastern side of the bracket, facing off against No. 6 Arkansas State University on April 5 at the Lindenwood Track Complex in St. Charles, Missouri.
The Lions enter the playoffs following a strong regular season marked by dominant performances and a deep, well-rounded roster. Recent wins against top-ranked programs such as Brigham Young University, Mount St. Mary's, and Davenport, and consistently high-level play have positioned them as one of the top six teams in the country, setting up a challenging but promising path to the national title.
If the Lions emerge victorious against the Red Wolves, they will advance to face the winner of the No. 2 seed Navy versus No. 7 seed Penn State match. That game would be played April 12 with a potential semifinal clash on April 19. The national championship match is set for May 3 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
"We've had a great season thus far, and it's time to finish our odyssey together by closing ranks and preparing for whatever the bracket may throw at us," Head Coach
Josh Macy said. "I'm proud of how far we have come as a group, but we are going further."
The 2025 bracket features a deep field, with perennial powerhouses like Cal, Saint Mary's, and Life looking to make deep runs as well, but with a strong core of veteran leadership, explosive attacking threats, and a passionate home crowd behind them, the Lions have every reason to believe this could be their year.
It will be Lindenwood hosting Arkansas State at the Lindenwood Track Complex in the first round of the playoffs with the opening kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. April 5.
