How it Happened: 1st XV
Lindenwood wasted no time. In the fourth minute,
David Cathcart crossed for the opening try, though the conversion was missed. The Lions extended the lead in the 12th minute when
Zack McCartney scored, and
Luke White's conversion made it 12-0.
Marian missed a pair of penalty kicks in the first half, and Cathcart added his second try in the 26th minute, sending the Lions into the break ahead 17-0.

Lindenwood scored five tries across three players, and Marian's only points came from a single penalty kick.
"Boys did well to keep to our game in the wet, tough conditions and everyone showed up for each other. Good win for us," said lock Harry Makatoa.
How it Happened: 2nd XV
In the earlier match, Lindenwood's second XV rolled to an 85-3 win over Marian's second side.
Ed Critchley got the Lions going with a close-range try in the third minute, and
Nicolás Rosselot's conversion made it 7-0.
Seth Tali scored in the 21st minute, with Rosselot converting again.
Patimiosa Liufau broke the line off a scrum in the 39th minute, and
Ren Heimer intercepted a dropped ball to score right at the end of the half.
Marian missed a penalty kick early in the second half, and
Pablo Romero scored in the 49th minute, finishing off a long pass from Rosselot. Tali added a second try, and Marian answered with a penalty kick in the 56th minute for its only points of the match.
The bench got in on the scoring from there.
Jacob Racine scored in the 58th minute,
Demitrius Taape followed in the 61st, and
Maxence Poussy finished an inside run off Rosselot in the 70th. Heimer added his second try in the 72nd minute, and
Hassan Lin scored in the 74th minute and again at the 80-minute mark to close out the match.
Tali, Heimer and Lin each scored twice for the Lions.
"At the beginning of game we could not play our style of rugby but we were able to fix the issues and make it simple, we could do what we want. Overall It was great game. Boys bring energy from the warmup that makes great performance on the field. We know some area is not good enough and need to improve but we will keep it up," said scrum half
Mutsumi Otaka.
"Great performance from both teams in some pretty challenging conditions along with uncompromising work ethic and attitude on defence having not conceded a try in both games", said Associate Head Coach
Dominic Shaw.
