2004
In 2004 the Lindenwood University shooting team won its first Intercollegiate National Championship in clay target shooting. The Lions had several individual national champions led by Brad Deauman who finished first in the International Skeet competition and in the Five Stand Sporting Clays. Along with Deauman, Nivia Jones won the lady’s competition in the Combined American and International Events. She hit 316 out of a possible 350 targets. On the team side the Lions were national champs in the International Skeet, American Trap, Five Stand Sporting Clays and Combined American and International Events.
2005
For the second straight year the Lindenwood Lions shooting team were the national champions of clay target shooting. The Lions won every single team competition at the event. It all started with a win in International Skeet where the team hit 274 out of 300 possible targets. Next was the American Trap competition and the Lions won with destroying all but eight of the possible 500 targets. International Trap was just as dominate as the others as the Lions only missed nine targets in a 300 target event. American Skeet and Five Stand Sporting Clays were the next two events that the Lions were victorious in and also won the Combined International and American Skeet with 1,552 targets hit out of 1,600. Not only did the Lions win team national championships but two shooters won individual titles. Cole Geisler won the Five Stand Sporting Clays event with 48 out of 50 targets hit. On the women’s side, Misty Williams was the champion of the Combined International and American Skeet with a event of 361 hits out of 400.
2006
For the third time in as many years the Lindenwood University shooting team won the Intercollegiate National Championship in Clay Target Sports. Led by Lindenwood's top gun, Mark Schutzius, the Lindenwood teams won gold in American Skeet, American Trap and International Skeet wile taking the silver in International Trap.Individual National Champions included Josh White, American Trap, Ran Cafarelli American Skeet.Â

2007
The Lindenwood shooting team won its fourth straight national shooting title in 2007. The Lions finished first at the 39th Annual ACUI Intercollegiate Clay Target Championships. The Lions broke 1,513 of 1,600 clay targets for the victory over 31 other schools. Lindenwood had to hold off a strong challenge by Texas A&M, which finished just eight birds behind. Missouri-Columbia came in third at the event after hitting 1,502 targets. Individually, Randall McLelland finished second overall in the men's standings, while Jenna McLean was second in the women's standings. McLelland had a score of 380 out of 400 targets, while McLean hit 353 targets during nationals. McLelland, Camden Clayton, Mark Schutzius and Travis Mears all earned all-American honors at the event. In American Skeet, Nick Gamel, McLelland and Schutzius led the Lions with all four scoring a 100. In American Trap, four Lindenwood shooters hit 97 targets in Josh White, Tyler Smith, Travis Rudolph and McLelland. Lindenwood won the team title in International Skeet by hitting 274 of 300 targets. The Lions were led on that day by McLelland and Schutzius, who hit 94 and 92 targets, respectively. In the International trap event, Clayton scored the best among Lindenwood shooters with a 94, one more than Mears.
2008
The Lindenwood shooting team won another national championship in 2008, the fifth straight year that it has won the ACUI Intercollegiate Clay Target National Championship.The Lindenwood shooting team was in a back-and-forth battle through four days with Texas A&M. The Lions led by just two targets going into the final day and the team wrapped up the title by winning the final event, American Trap, by four shots. Lindenwood finished by hitting 1,528 out of 1,600 targets, while Texas A&M was runner-up with 1,522 targets. Individually, six Lindenwood shooters earned All-American honors by finishing in the top-10. Mark Schutzuis led the way with a third-place finish after hitting 383 out of 400 birds. Among the others, Nicholas Gamel finished fourth with a score of 378, Robert Auerbach was fifth with 375, Matthew Hoffman was eighth with 369, and Michael Hahn was ninth with 367.      Â

2009
The Lindenwood shotgun shooting team won its sixth straight national collegiate championship in 2009 after dominating the national championship. The Lions finished by hitting 1,562 targets, 67 more than runner-up Missouri. Lindenwood swept the top six spots in the men's rankings, led by individual champion Robert Auerbach who finished with a score of 386. The program also swept the top three spots in the women's individual rankings, led by women's champion Alexandra Chiang with 362 points. Finishing in the top ten on the men's side were Travis Mears, Jon Shockley, Camden Clayton, Nicholas Gamel, Jesse Molstre, Robby Wahlbrink, and Matt Schutzius. Mears finished four shots behind Auerbach, and the rest of Lindenwood's Top Ten was in the 367 and 375 range. Finishing behind Chiang in the women's standing were Jessica Forbes and Jenna Mclean. Forbes hit 350 targets during the event, one more than Mclean. Other individual awards included Shockley winning the overall combined American titles, Auerbach capturing the overall international events and the combined skeet titles. In the final event, international skeet, Lindenwood won the team title with 280 targets, easily defeating runner-up Missouri who had 238 targets. Chiang won her overall championship after winning the event with 98 targets. Auerbach finished second on the men's side with 95 targets.
2010
For the seventh consecutive year, the Lindenwood Clay Target Shooting team finished the national championships on top of the podium. Even though this was the seventh time the Lions were national champions, the 2010 ACUI Intercollegiate National Championships was different. The Lions made history by destroying the competition. Lindenwood would beat second place Southeastern Illinois College by a record 90 targets. The Lions won every single team event while Travis Mears won the high overall individual title on the men's side of the competition. Mears was a champion in two separate events including International Skeet and the Sporting Clays. Jenna McLean fell just short one target short on the women’s side and finished in second place. Other winners for Lindenwood were Josh Creswell and Megan Orle in International Trap, Geri Williams won the women’s American Skeet, and Jesse Moltre finished with most targets hit in the Five Stand event. Â

2011
Lindenwood shotgun sports won its eighth straight team title at the ACUI Intercollegiate National Championships in San Antonio, Texas. The Lions finished 50 points ahead of the next closest competitor, Southeastern Illinois College. For the second straight year, Lindenwood won every single team event while individually, Rob Auerbach emerged as the top overall male and Sarah Hughes captured the high overall women’s title. Hughes finished first in the Five Stand event and finished second in two other events. The Lions won their first individual title in American Trap as Brendan Appel took top honors. Six out of the top 10 shooters on the women’s side were from Lindenwood with Megan Orle leading the way in second. Orle also picked up a first place individual title in International Trap. Other individual winners included Cassandra Douglas in American Skeet and Cody Reid in International Skeet. The Lions took five out of the top 10 spots in Sporting Clays with Matt Hughes leading the way in second for Lindenwood. Â

2012
The shotgun sports program claimed its ninth consecutive team championship at the 44
th Annual ACUI national Clay Target Championships in 2012. Lindenwood finished with a combined total of 2,263 out of 2,350 targets as a team to finish 85 ahead of the second place team. Lindenwood came within one point of sweeping all six major team events.  The Lions won the American and International Skeet competitions, the American and International Trap competitions and the Sporting Clays event, but finished second in the Five Stand competition.  In addition to their ninth overall team title, the Lions also captured 10 individual championships including both the men's and women's High Overall titles. Sarah Hughes finished with a score of 500 to take the crown for the second straight year. She also won the women's championship title in International Trap. Casey Van Sant was the men’s High Overall winner with a score of 518.  He also claimed the title in the International Combined event. Two other Lions were individual men's champions including Dustin Perry who won both the International Skeet event and the Skeet Combined event and Alik Miller who won the American Skeet title with a score of 100. On top of the Sarah Hughes victories, the Lady Lions captured an additional three women's individual titles. Cassandra Douglas won the American Skeet championship, Rachel Hopkins hit 100 targets to win the American Trap event, and Morgan Craft captured the International Skeet competition.Â

2013
The Lindenwood shotgun sports team became one of a handful of teams to have ever won 10 consecutive national championships when they wrapped up the title at the 45th Annual ACUI Clay Target Championships at the NSSA-NSCA National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, Texas in 2013. The Lions compiled a total of 2,249 targets out of 2,350 to defeat Texas A&M by 60 targets and third place Bethel University by 121. For the second year in a row, Lindenwood came within one target of sweeping all six major team events. The Lions won the International skeet, International trap, 5-Stand, sporting clays and American skeet competitions, but finished second behind Bethel University in the American trap event. In addition to the team title, the Lions won 10 individual championships, including both the men's and women's high overall (HOA) titles, and they medaled 23 times overall. Sarah Hughes earned her third straight women's HOA win with a score of 506 to top the second place shooter by 19 targets. Lindenwood swept all three medal positions in men's HOA competition. Matthew Fuqua led the way with a score of 514, followed by Dustin Perry with 512 and Colton Raley with 510. Perry also captured the combined International and the combined skeet championships and Elliot Toll earned the International and combined trap titles. Casey Jones won the men's American skeet event and Matt Hughes won the combined clay target championship. Lauren Mueller was the women's American trap winner.Â

 2014
The Lindenwood shotgun sports team went to San Antonio, Texas with the goal of winning another national title, and the Lions did just that, putting the finishing touches on their 11
th straight at the 46
th Annual ACUI Clay Target Championships, held at the National Shooting Complex. Lindenwood posted one of the program's best overall shooting totals in history at the event, hitting 2,278 targets out of 2,350. That was enough for a final margin of 58 over Bethel University in second. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University finished third. For the first time since 2011, the Lions swept all six major team competitions including American and International skeet, American and International trap, five-stand, and sporting clays. Lindenwood earned 21 individual medals and collected eight individual championships.Â
Sarah Hughes won the ladies High Overall title as well as the women's five-stand and combined International events.
Casey Van Sant was the top International trap shooter and he also won the sporting clays competition.
Drew Feig earned top honors in American trap,
Ryan Smithart took the combined skeet title, and
Morgan Craft won the women's combined skeet championship.

2015
The Lindenwood shotgun sports team wrapped up another national title at the 47
th Annual ACUI Collegiate Clay Target Championships, held at the National Shoot Complex in San Antonio, Texas. In doing so, the Lions made it a dozen straight, winning their 12
th consecutive team title at the event. Lindenwood hit 2,252 targets out of 2,350 for a margin of 45 over second place Bethel University. Tarleton State University finished third.

Despite only winning one individual medal during the week of competition, the Lions captured five out of six major team events including International skeet, International trap, American skeet, American trap, and five stand. Lindenwood finished second in sporting clays. The lone individual victory was
Morgan Mavis, who hit 99 out of 100 in preliminaries, then shot straight through in the finals to claim the ladies American trap title.

In the men's high overall standings, two Lions finished in the top 10.Â
Shawn Kemeter hit 510 out of 550 for sixth place, while
Nick Boerboon posted a score of 508 for eighth place. The top Lady Lion in the women's high overall standings was
Lauren Mueller, who took 12
th with a score of 444.Â
Emily Stuchell hit 443 targets for 14
th.

One of the best performances for Lindenwood came on the last day in the American trap individual and team competitions. Six Lions posted 100 out of 100 scores to advance to shoot-offs including
Christian Jensen,
Trevor Shockley,
Trey Hill,Â
Zach Nannini,
Sam Leiendecker, and
Nick Clement. Jensen survived the first extra round, and ultimately took third in the event. The squad of Nannini, Shockley, Leiendecker, Hardy Musselmann, and
Lee Rucker combined for 494 out of 500 to win the American trap team title.

2016
The Lindenwood shotgun sports team captured its historic 13th consecutive Division I national title at the 48
th Annual ACUI Collegiate Clay Target Championships March 29 through April 3 at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, Texas. The Lions finished with a total of 2,262 targets hit out of a possible 2,350 to finish 68 head of second place Bethel.
The six day event concluded with the American Trap competition on Sunday with Lindenwood taking the top team spot with a score of 497/500. Hardy Musselman emerged as the individual champion in the discipline, shooting a perfect 175/175 overall after four preliminary rounds and an additional four shoot-offs.Â
The Lions swept the Division I team titles in all five other disciplines earlier in the week, with a score of 496/500 in American Skeet, 272/300 in International Skeet, 286/300 in International Trap, 232/250 in Five Stand, and 482/500 in Sporting Clays. Chase Walter also won the individual Sporting Clays Open title with a score of 98/100.Â
Six Lions made the NRA All-American First Team, including Walter, Brady Simms, Matt Griffiths, James Barnard, Shawn Kemeter, and Will Thomas.
2017
Lindenwood shotgun sports once again dominated the competition, winning an incredible 14
th consecutive team title at the ACUI Collegiate Clay Target National Championships, March 29 through April 2 at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, Texas. The Lions hit 2,289 out of 2,350 targets to finish 78 targets ahead of second place Texas A & M. Lindenwood swept the six team disciplines of American Skeet, American Trap, International Skeet, International Trap, Five Stand, and Sporting Clays.
Competition began Wednesday, and out of the gate, Lindenwood won the team Sporting Clays event with a score of 472/500, led byÂ
Shawn Kemeter who won the individual open title with 98/100. The Lions then won the Five Stand competition with 241/250, led byÂ
Matt Griffiths, who posted the only perfect score of 50/50 to win the individual open title. Â

International Skeet competition took place on Thursday with the Lions capturing the team event with a score of 284/300, led by seniorÂ
Will Thomas and freshmanÂ
Nic Moschetti who both hit 97/100. In the open individual event, Thomas and Moschetti finished second and third respectively after a shoot-off. Â
The Lions were nearly perfect in International Trap on day three, winning the team event with 299/300. Â

Jason Varozza were perfect individually with Varozza winning a four-way shoot-off for the individual crown. Â

The final day was delayed by a huge thunderstorm, but when the skies cleared, Lindenwood continued to shoot well, taking first place in the team American Trap event with a 496/500 fromÂ

Nick Clement was the only perfect score from Lindenwood, and lost a shoot-off with 11 other shooters to finish ninth.

2018
The shotgun sports team trailed Texas A & M by one target with just American Skeet remaining for both squads, but Lindenwood outshot the Aggies by four in the final event March 31 to claim the 15
th straight title for the program at the ACUI Collegiate Clay Target National Championships at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, Texas. The Lions finished with an overall score of 2,492 compared to Texas A & M with 2,489. It was the smallest margin of victory for Lindenwood in any of its national championships. Â
