Lions Continue To Struggle Shooting Away From St. Charles

The Lindenwood men's basketball team continued its frigid shooting on the road on Thursday night as it dropped another game behind HAAC leader Central Methodist after a 68-43 setback against the Eagles.

The Lions scored the first bucket of the game but Central Methodist ran off 13 straight points to take a commanding lead. A 16-2 run later in the half put the Eagles up by 21 points and they would lead at halftime by a 31-15 margin. Central Methodist continued to build its lead throughout the second half, eventually leading by as many as 33 points late in the game.

Lindenwood shot 40.0 percent for the game, and was just six-of-22 (27.3%) in the first half. The Lions also turned the ball over 10 more times, and only drew nine fouls and six free throw attempts. The Eagles shot nearly 48 percent from the field, made six more three-pointers, and outrebounded Lindenwood.

The trio of Brett Thompson, Toriano Adams, and Joey Parker combined for 31 of the team's 43 points, and 16 of Lindenwood's 29 rebounds. Those three players made 14-of-21 from the field, while the rest of the team was just four-of-24.

Thompson made all five field goals he attempted and had team-highs of 12 points and six rebounds. Adams finished with 10 points, one more than Parker, and both of those players grabbed five boards.
