The Lindenwood men's volleyball team salvaged a spilt this past weekend at the Clarke Tournament in Dubuque, Iowa with a pair of wins on Saturday.
The Lions opened the tournament with losses to Clarke and Missouri Baptist, before bouncing back on Saturday with sweeps of Hannibal-LaGrange and Graceland.
Against Clarke, Lindenwood fell behind two games to one, and rallied to force a fifth set. However, it was not meant to be as the host school prevailed 30-26, 23-30, 30-20, 30-32, 15-13.
JM Plummer logged a double-double with a 17 kills and 16 digs.
Jack Mitchell chipped in with 15 kills.
Mike Larson posted 30 assists and
Carson Grissinger tallied 25.
Mike Emerick had 18 digs,
Andrew Hock had 16, and
Luke Knowlson had a team-best eight blocks.
Missouri Baptist swept Lindenwood 30-26, 30-21, 30-18, earning its second straight win against the Lions.
Mike Warren, Mitchell, and Plummer each had nine kills apiece to pace the offense. Larson netted 18 assists and Grissinger added 17. Emerick totaled eight digs.
Lindenwood turned things around against Hannibal-LaGrange, sweeping the Trojans 30-22, 30-28, 30-22. Plummer had a season-high 19 kills and Mitchell collected 15. Warren also finished in double-figures with 10. Grissinger posted 26 assists and Larson had 21.
Jon Wong converted a pair of aces and Emerick chipped in with eight digs. Mitchell totaled a team-high five blocks.
The Lions wrapped up the weekend defeating Graceland 30-22, 30-25, 30-19. Mitchell led Lindenwood with 13 kills and Plummer added 10. Grissinger tallied 22 assists and Larson had 20. Wong once again led the team with two aces. Emerick recorded 10 digs and Warren had five blocks.
Lindenwood (19-12, 7-5) end the regular season with five losses in its last 11 matches, and will compete in the MAMVIC West conference tournament starting on April 9th.
