Lions Home Winning Streak Snapped Versus Quincy

The Lindenwood men's volleyball team forced a fifth set on Friday night against Quincy, but the Lions fell short against the Hawks by a 3-2 score. The Lions saw their 14-match home winning streak snapped in a 25-23, 25-22, 18-25, 18-25, and 15-12 loss.

The Lions began to claw back into the match with a nearly perfect third set. Lindenwood did not have a single hitting error as it hit .593 for the set. In the fourth set, it was Lindenwood's defense that led to an easy win as Quincy had more hitting errors than kills.

The deciding fifth set had eight ties and three lead changes. The final tie was at 9-9 and Quincy broke it with two straight points. The two teams traded sideouts then until the Hawks scored the final two points of the sets.

Lindenwood finished the match hitting .278, compared to a .265 mark for Quincy. The Hawks had seven more kills, 25 more hitting attempts, and five more aces. Defensively, the Lions had 10 more digs and one more block.
