Men's Volleyball Suffers Another Five-Set Loss

For the second straight match, the Lindenwood men's volleyball team lost at Hyland Arena in five sets. On Sunday afternoon, the Lions fell to Park by scores of 30-28, 25-19, 23-25, 22-25, and 15-13.

Park's offense outdueled Lindenwood's offense in the match. The Pirates hit .319 and hit .300 or better in four of the five sets. Lindenwood hit .271 and was over the .300 mark just three times in five sets.

The offenses were in full display in the deciding fifth set when both team struggled scoring on their serve. There were only two points scored by the serving team for the first 24 points, and the two teams were tied at 12. Park finally broke that trend with a kill by Matheus Roham to give the Pirates a 13-12 lead. After trading sideouts, Park won the match on another kill by Roham.

Four Lindenwood players ended the match with double-figure kills, led by Jack Mitchell with 17 and Michael Adams with 15. JM Plummer and Scott Siwicki both had 11 kills. Siwicki hit .588 with just one error in 17 attacks. Christopher Cox had 35 assists after entering the match as the setter late in the second set. Adams led Lindenwood with three service aces and 10 digs. Logan Jarus had a team-high eight blocks.

Lindenwood falls to 3-2 on the season. The Lions will next host the Lindenwood Invitational on Feb. 3-4 at Hyland Arena.
